When we bought our house it had only one habitable room. Now, after much hard work by John, the house is a real home. There are still a few bits to do and we will keep you up-dated on the progress. Below are some before and after pictures for you to see.

This how the house looked when we bought it in 2000.

This wall was renovated in 2009.

This was a mix of calf stalls, chicken houses and wood stores in 2000.

Picture
This was the only room we could use in 2000. It was our bedroom, kitchen and sitting room at that time.

Picture
This was an attached barn that was used for cows.

Picture
This was part of the cow barn attached to the main house. It was six foot lower than the rest of the house so had to be raised before the real work could start.

This is the back part of the house which John converted into a temporary bedroom before he renovated the upstairs.

Here it is in 2011.

And look how wonderful it looks now.

Now it is a conservatory, utility room and play/work room.

Picture
Now it is a comfortable and warm kitchen complete with Rayburn for central heating and Winter cooking.

Picture
Now it is our lovely sitting room with large wood burning stove that keeps us warm as toast!

Picture
Now it is a light and airy dining room.

Here is our temporary bedroom. It is now a play/work room and will be the engine shed for John's trains to be driven in when he has finished operating them.
